For over 20 years David’s career has covered advertising, marketing communications, brand development and interactive technologies. As principal of Mindshape, David is actively involved with consulting on strategic direction and creative execution. He has worked on campaigns for such well-known clients as McDonalds, Nike, City of Toronto, Credit Union Central of Canada, Beef Information Centre, CGC Inc. and Kruger Products. David continues to promote the importance of integrated brand marketing through public speaking engagements, teaching and as Chair of the Mohawk College Advertising and Communications Committee. David has a background in business studies and is a graduate of Sheridan College’s design communications program; he has judged several international marketing competitions including CMA and EDCO as well as being a frequent contributor to the Register Graphic Designers association where he has earned his RGD designation.
For over 12 years, Paul has developed innovative marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies in diverse sectors that include technology, consumer packaged goods and durables. His work also covers brand identity development in the public sector. Throughout his career, Paul has managed global brand transitions, developed strategic brand identities, launched innovative products and has built effective advertising campaigns.
Paul’s background in marketing strategy, along with his knowledge of qualitative and quantitative market research, makes him highly proficient in the generation of useful consumer insights that lead to marketing success. Paul has conducted research programs on behalf of clients and can also uncover valuable insights from existing research. Paul is experienced in market research, category analysis, national product launches, loyalty programs and advertising campaigns. He holds an MBA and an HBAS from Schulich, as well as a degree in psychology from Western.
Scott is an accomplished art director with over twenty years of design and studio management experience. His creative portfolio covers local and international accounts including Xerox, D&B (Dunn and Bradstreet) and Kraft Foods. With a proven knowledge of production and creative processes, Scott provides valuable insights that link ideation to tangible concepts. Technically strong and renowned for his attention to detail and ability to see the big picture, Scott consistently keeps creative strategy on time, on track and on brand. Scott is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Graphic Design program.
Angela Rea has more than 20 years experience managing media and corporate communications for some of the most well-known organizations in Canada and the UK including Bell Mobility, the Ontario Government (OTAB), the London Docklands Development Corporation, and British retail giant, Chelsea Girl. Most recently, her ten years with Hewlett-Packard as Director of Public Relations, provided her with a wealth of corporate PR experience including the largest IT merger in history (HP and Compaq). Angela's work has spanned diverse programs including those designed to: announce new products, services, alliances and customer wins; increase executive visibility; promote best practices in corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship and manage press corps for visiting dignitaries and political leaders – such as the Prime Minister of Singapore and Chicago’s Mayor Daley.
Heidi is a senior account director with a breadth of experience in consumer product categories and B2B trade channel marketing. Her insights bring measureable value to the business of branding and advertising. With over 12 years experience helping clients’ succeed, she understands the importance of delivering an unsurpassed level of client service and strategic planning to ensure brand consistency and maximum return on marketing spend. Throughout her career, Heidi has been instrumental in developing and managing brand programs for such clients as Bank of Montreal, Tim Horton’s, General Mills, Bell Canada, Cadbury, McDonald’s, General Motors and British Airways. Having worked for both boutique and global agencies, Heidi brings a wealth of experience in account efficiencies, process and leadership. Heidi has spent six months at sea sailing off the coast of South Africa, studied at the Canadian Institute of Advertising and holds a B.Com from Mount Allison University.
Shaun is a proven marketing professional who is immersed in the ever-changing digital world. His combination of design, front-end development, and digital marketing experience has afforded him the opportunity to be involved in the creation, delivery, and measurement of many highly successful programs. Prior to joining Mindshape, Shaun’s experience spans 10 years working with small software start-ups, non-profits, and top CPG companies. He has been successful in developing and executing strategies for the design/usability/development of CPG, editorial, and ecommerce websites, mobile, email & social media marketing as well as video production and SEO/SEM. Through research and strategic planning, Shaun has leveraged his blend of planning and technical knowledge to deploy social media platforms that engage consumers and build brand advocates. Shaun holds a Diploma in commercial design and continued management studies at Ryerson University.
Brian is a passionate, results-driven creative director with over 13 years experience. Working at some of Canada’s leading Branding and Advertising Agencies, Brian quickly learned the importance of building strong, powerful and differentiated brands. Brands that are highly relevant and capable of influencing the choices that people make. Skilled at translating strategic insight into words, visuals and activities, Brian’s conceptual ideation results in highly meaningful and ultimately engaging creative. His corporate brand identities and numerous marketing campaigns have been implemented nationally and globally, across a broad range of delivery vehicles – corporate material, product literature, TV, radio, print and digital media. He has worked on campaigns for such well-known clients as; Direct Energy, Daily Bread Food Bank, Manitoba Public Insurance, Siemens, SNC Lavalin, Morrison Hershfield, Swiss Herbal Remedies, St. Joseph Hospital, Johnson & Johnson Medical Products and Tyco Securities.
With over 25 years as a senior manager within the Canadian credit union system, Janice brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights that enable Mindshape to help credit unions succeed in building winning brands. Janice spent 21 years as Marketing and Production Manager for Credit Union Central of Canada (Canadian Central) where she managed a number of strategic marketing programs for the credit union system. Joining Mindshape in 2005, she heads up our Credit Union Member Services program that actively engages over 350 credit unions every year. Janice knows the importance of building brand equity in the competitive financial services market and is highly regarded for her planning, management and expertise.
